I see the files are in malwarebytes history but I cannot restore them and root out the malware on my own as they are marked for delete on reboot, despite the computer being rebooted multiple times. ![]() He said he used malwarebytes to scan and remove the threats, which were a lot from what I can see in the log, and now his computer always goes to a blue screen with just a cursor after the welcome. He had downloaded something, told me he forgot what it was, and said his computer started installing random things and he was getting constant pop-ups. Now, launch iTunes, and your iPod should be recognized as a new device. The iPod should now mount on your Desktop as a generic white-colored removable disk icon. Quit Disk Utility when the process has completed successfully. Click the Erase button to erase the iPod. Uncheck the option for installing OS 9 drivers, and choose Mac OS Extended (not journaled) as the disk format. Click the Erase tab, and enter a name for your iPod. Open Disk Utility (Applications/Utilities/Disk Utility) and select the iPod from the list of disks in the sidebar. Apply the change, if necessary, then quit iTunes. Connect the iPod to your computer, and if iTunes opens automatically and shows you the iPod summary page, then disable the option to open iTunes automatically when the iPod is connected. Since it seems that you will have to erase the contents of your iPod anyway (restoring it will do that), then I would hit the problem with a bit larger hammer. ![]()
